In Southern California as the sun sets, looking back on how it all started... It begins with a lad sitting alone in RVA just before Spring Break.

In walks a friend, roadtripping on his mind and adventure in his eyes, who invites me to join. Needing to catch up on work and find a respectable internship, I unfortunately had to say yes. 5 minutes back to campus, 15 minutes to pack my bags, and we're off. North, to New York.

A California boy's first time experiencing the Atlantic. Covered bridges, iconic skylines, a landscape welcoming warmth back into the air.

They arrive to a warm welcome from our lovely hosts (most graciously despite the lack of notice about the additional visitor). Perhaps two scruffy college guys is almost the same as one.

In the world of climbing, it is a widely held truth that climbing back down off of a mountain is vastly more dangerous than climbing to the summit. Perhaps the same applies to road trips.

As they drove back to Richmond, he felt the weight of his unfinished assignments and unfound internships

There was a lot of ground to make up for; he needed some kind of time hack... a shortcut...

Moving at 65 MPH, Liam started to play with time infinitum as if it could be held in one's hands like silk. Unsatisfied with the discrete horological buckets of the pedestrian schedules and calendars, he desired a visual analogue for the seamless, eternal flow of time.

He started to flatten time and then roll it back upon itself like a scroll.

A strike of lightning, a flash of an image, and the tug of skeletal muscles that creates a grin..

The shape of time wrapped upon itself was suddenly familiar.

When one holds a shell, it is normal to wonder "what lives in this?" Whereas the shell revealed itself in an instantaneous bolt of clarity, the contents emerged from obscurity gradually through empathy, education, and meditation.

Finally, the answer came one restless night. H-O-R-U-S, a place where each of our selves can coexist harmoniously as we soar to new altitudes.

At this point, the guiding vision was an entirely intangible dream held by a zealot evangelist. Liam knew that tossing the ring into Mount Doom would require a fellowship of likeminded believers.

It is unlikely that anyone seeking to build a capable team will find all the necessary members already among their friends. To develop a cohesive unit of diverse skillets and mindsets, one must engage their secondary networks (friends of friends, if you prefer) and then apply a fair but fine-toothed comb to all.

When the time came to share his vision with the world, Liam asked his most principled friends and mentors to help him find the daring believers that would elevate to HORUS into ubiquity. One by one, they stepped forward to create something unprecedented that could change how we live.

Now we stand, one team trying to slay giants and become a unicorn.

We know that additional adventurers will join the Fellowship along the way. In fact, we’ve only just left the Shire. There is a long, uncertain journey ahead of us, but we are resolute in our mission.
